The Cornershop

︎︎︎ Pay with your mind
Problem:
Within the South Asian community many people don’t understand or think that mental health is a real or important issue. A lot of people within this community see it as an embarrassing or a weakness.

Idea:
Many South Asians migrated to the UK and began owning cornershops across the UK including my own family. I wanted to tackle the issue of mental health by using nostalgia from the 70s/80s and creating a pop-up cornershop that brings the community together and gets them talking about mental health.

The Cornershop will partner with South Asian Therapists with the incentive ‘Pay with your mind’ to get more South Asians aware of the services out there and to get them opening up about their mental health.

STRATEGY:

BRAND MISSION: Inform and encourage South Asian community understand and talk about their mental health openly.

BRAND PURPOSE:
To raise awareness of the issue of mental health in the South Asian community and provide support to them to help them learn how to deal with their mental health.

BRAND VISION:
The vision is to get the South Asian community together to understand and discuss the challenges of mental health within the wider community.
